To attend appropriate school events on behalf of the parents, for example, parent/teacher conferences.
To set up, provide transportation, and make medical decisions for all non-emergency medical situations.
To fill and provide prescriptions.
To house students that have been suspended for the given period.
To house students that need a place to stay during breaks when Kolbe Hall is closed, Christmas, Easter, etc.
To provide or arrange transportation for students to and from the airport besides days and times provided by St. Mary’s Prep.
To give permission to the Residence Hall Staff when the student is allowed to go off campus with an individual other than by himself or with a St. Mary’s staff member.
To attend to extraordinary needs, including unusual transportation needs, for students.
I nsurance
ALL BOARDERS MUST HAVE HEALTH INSURANCE BEFORE THE STUDENT ARRIVES ON ST. MARY’S CAMPUS. FAILURE TO DO SO WILL RESULT IN ST.MARY’S PURCHASING HEALTH INSURANCE FOR THE STUDENT, THE COST WILL BE ADDED TO TUITION. Insurance cards, immunization records, consent to treatment forms, prescribed medication forms, should be kept in the Hall Office in the student’s file. Proof of Insurance should be faxed before the beginning of the school year to the Dean of Resident Students and the School Nurse at 248-683-1740. PLEASE CALL OUR SCHOOL NURSE AT 248-683-0539 FOR ANY INFORMATION REGARDING INSURANCE COMPANIES.
Medical
All ill students must immediately report to either the Nurse or the Dean of Residents. The Nurse is available from 7:45 AM to 2:45 PM Monday thru Friday. Illness and other medical concerns will be addressed on a case-by-case basis at the discretion of the Nurse and the Dean of Residents.
All prescription medication must be turned in to the Nurse or the Dean of Residents and will be distributed by the Nurse and/or the Dean. All students must complete a Permission Form for Prescribed Medication and provide proof of insurance.
