MAJOR VIOLATIONS
Off Campus without Permission
Leaving campus without permission is considered a major liability issue to both the Orchard Lake Schools and for the parents. Students may not leave campus without the permission of the Dean of Residence and also without the written consent of the parents (see Off Campus Permission form). The only exceptions to these rules are attending a school / boarding program function or any sporting event where transportation is provided by the Orchard Lake Schools.
The first offense will result in a minimum three (3) day off campus suspension, to include all classes and activities.
If leaving campus without permission presents a problem then that student or students risk being expelled from the Boarding Program.
Horseplay
Boarding students will have time to exercise and participate in intramural activities outside or in the gyms. By no means will students throw balls, run and horseplay, dribble a basketball or kick a soccer ball around the dorm.
Orchard Lake (the Lake )
Students are never permitted by the lake or on the docks without permission and supervision of a member of the Residence Staff. Optional swim times will be occasionally available during season and only with proper supervision.
Restricted Areas
Residents must get permission from a Residence Staff Member to leave St. Kolbe Hall. Residence Hall Staff must be aware of the location of all residents at all times . In the case of emergency, fire, or even a telephone call, it is imperative for residents to tell a staff member where they intend to go.
Students are never permitted in the following areas of campus without staff supervision: Dining Hall, Old and New Gyms, and the Lake Front.
Students are never permitted in the following buildings or areas except in the case of a class for school: St. Albertus Hall, the Barracks, Marian Hall, CAC, College Student Union, the Seminary, the Ark , Galeria, and the Administrative Building .
ANY SITUATION RELATED TO TOBACCO, ALCOHOL, DRUGS, WEAPONS, THEFT, ETC. WILL RESULT IN THE IMMEDIATE NOTIFICATION OF THE HEAD MASTER AND THE DEAN OF STUDENTS.
RESIDENTS SUSPENDED ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR MAKING THEIR OWN HOUSING ARRANGEMENTS OFF CAMPUS. POLICIES, RULES, CODES OF CONDUCT, ETC. MAY BE ALTERED AT THE DISCRETION OF THE DEAN OF RESIDENTS and HEADMASTER AS DEEMED NECESSARY and ACCORDING TO STATE BOARDING SCHOOL PROVISIONS/COMPLIANCE.
