BREAKFAST AND DINNER ARE MANDATORY!

Students are expected to follow all Dining Hall rules. Some of these rules include: students must wear shoes or sneakers, no cleats, and students must wear shirts, etc.

Students may only attend meals assigned to Prep students and at the allotted times.

Courtesy Hours

Courtesy Hours are in effect 24 hours a day 7 days a week. During Courtesy Hours residents may not play their stereos, have voices carry, etc. more than four doors down in the Residence Hall. Students are expected to be considerate of others in the Hall and to honor their requests to, for example, turn down their stereo.

Lights Out

Lights out will be at 10:30 pm during school nights and at 11:30 pm on weekend nights. All rooms will be checked at lights out to ensure all residents are accounted for. The Headmaster and the Dean of Students will be immediately notified if there are any unaccounted students. After Lights out, noise should not be heard outside the Residence Hall rooms. Students seeking a lights out extension must receive permission from a Residence Hall Staff Member before lights out. Seniors will have to earn their extended lights out privilege as a whole.

Study Hall

Each student is required to participate in a two hour, supervised Study Hall Monday through Thursday evenings. Study Halls typically occur from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM but may be moved to 8:00 PM to 10:00 PM to adjust for Day Light Savings Time. Students remain in their rooms during Study Hall unless they have permission from a member of the Residence Staff to study in the library on the third floor of the Residence Hall, or other study areas. Study Hall is a time to study by ones self. Any study groups must receive permission before Study Hall. Residents are expected to know all their assignments and have all needed materials before Study Hall begins. During Study Hall, residents are not permitted to visit another resident, not even to borrow materials.

Students with a GPA of 4.0 or higher may be excused from Study Hall, provided that their behavior is good and they do not disturb other students!

During Study Hall students may not receive visitors, receive or make telephone calls, play games, stereos, etc. Student may listen to music with headphones in their rooms, provided that their GPA is above a 2.6. Doors to residents' rooms must remain fully open during Study Hall. Limited faculty assistance is available during Study Hall.

Hall Meetings

There will be REGULAR Hall Meetings with the residents. The Dean of Residents conducts these meetings during the school year. The purpose of these meetings is to provide opportunities for the residents to give positive input for the Hall, to help residents organize activities and programs, and to report any maintenance concerns, etc. These meetings will typically take place before Study hall.

Hall Meetings will be held in the beginning, end, and through out the semester. These meetings will be announced. Attendance at Hall Meetings is mandatory, unless excused in advance.
