The Polish Institute of Culture & Research Celebrates Fat Thursday at OLSM!

Fat Thursday also known as Tłusty Czwartek in Poland, is the last Thursday prior to Ash Wednesday and the beginning of Lent. It is one of Poland's tastiest and richest traditions. In the United States, Pączki Day is celebrated in areas with large Polish populations aka. Polonias on Fat Tuesday, however, next week is Winter Break so this Thursday seems perfect!

Fun Fact: this tradition dates back to the 16th century in Poland.

*Pączki will be provided at no cost at all student lunches for students and to all faculty and staff on campus.

*If you would like to pre-order a dozen pączki, please submit to Ania at the Polish Institute abieciuk@picrol.org by February 15th. One dozen for $25.

This year's flavors: rasberry, strawberry, and custard. All pączki are from Srodek's- Irena's Pastry & Bistro.
